El Proyecto de Dia de los muertos
Dia de los Muertos is the Day of the Dead where many people will celebrate the dead and their past family members and the things they loved. There are lot of things going towards this holiday like candy, flowers, and shrines to bring the dead back to life on the Day of the Dead. The Spanish invaded Mexico in 1520 and morphed this holiday to fit Catholic beliefs and to get the aztec people to accept it, it evolved into the holiday as we see it today. The part of making fun of dead people came from the Aztecs. We made two different projects for this unit; one was El Obituario where we made a poster with a person who has died and we would write a little bit about Them in Spanish. We made them pretty with a drawing and posted them on the altar. The second was the La Cavalera; it was similar but we focused on someone who is alive and found ways to make jokes about them.
